Baptist Health Lexington offers the course "Safe Sitter", a medically accurate program designed to teach boys and girls, ages approximately 11-14, how to be great sitters. Classes are designed for students in the sixth grade and above. See www.SafeSitter.org for more information about the program curriculum.

Class includes:

  • First aid
  • CPR for infants & children
  • Safety precautions
  • Basic child care skills such as diapering and feeding
  • Care for a choking infant or child
  • Behavior management
  • How to call for emergency help
  • Business/professionalism skills

Cost is $85/student and includes a student handbook and notepad. Baptist Health Lexington employee dependents are offered 20% off for a discounted rate of $68/student. 

Registration and pre-payment in advance is required. If payment is not received one week before class date, registration may be forfeited. A student contract and parent registration form will be emailed to registrants before class. After registering for a confirmed spot online, please mail check (made out to Baptist Health Lexington). Add student's name to the memo line. If claiming the employee discount rate, please include employee name and ID number and mail to:

Each student needs to bring the signed student contract, the parent registration form, a lunch, drink, and snacks for the day. Class ends at 3:30 pm, followed by a short graduation ceremony. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend the graduation ceremony and dismissal will follow at approximately 3:45 pm. Baptist Health Lexington has the right to cancel a class if few participants are registered. This event can be refunded up to 30 days after the date of purchase or the day before the event is held, whichever comes first.
