Program Objectives

At the conclusion of session A, the participants will be able to:

 A. Recall Research initiatives at Baptist Health Lexington.

B. Examine the effect of a multidisciplinary team approach on anxiety and distress among patients preparing for colorectal stoma surgery.

C. Examine the effect of a suicide prevention program on understanding and beliefs of nurses towards suicide.

D. Evaluate the effect of an open sternotomy training program on knowledge, confidence, and satisfaction among nurses who may assist with emergent open sternotomy in the intensive care unit.

At the conclusion of session B, the participant should be able to:

A. Recall Research initiatives at Baptist Health Lexington.

B. To describe the effect of a transitional pain approach following surgery in a patient with an opioid use disorder.

C. To describe nurses’ buy-in regarding the implementation of an ERAS protocol following cesarean birth as well as challenges and perceived benefits of the protocol among mother-baby nurses

D. To evaluate the Spinning Babies® workshop regarding caregiver confidence, attitudes, and patient safety among labor and delivery staff.
