About this event

Paducah Kangaroo Club is a place where breastfeeding mothers enjoy the comradery of other breastfeeding moms, as they journey through the ups and downs of new motherhood. We encourage each other through challenges. We celebrate BIG when goals are met, with certificates and milestone gifts. We have monthly discussions on various topics related to breastfeeding and infant care. While breastfeeding and/or pumping is the foundation of Club, we do cover other topics at times, such as, how to give a swaddle bath, (with a real live 3-week-old volunteer), how to use different types of baby wearable wraps, (with parents bringing their own to learn how to use), and starting solids, featuring unique utensils for new eaters. At Paducah Kangaroo Club, your support person is always welcome. We want the whole family to learn that breastfeeding is important, and how they can support it.  A baby scale is available at each meeting. Many mothers weigh their baby, breastfeed during the meeting, then weigh baby again afterward to see how much milk baby drank. An IBCLC will be present to help with this and answer questions. Small door prizes are given out at Club. And be sure to check out our "Give and Take" table as well. This group is by moms. . . for moms. You won’t want to miss it.
